Brass Bevel Gears Straight-Tooth System Ratio 1:1 – 4:1

Brass with a straight-tooth system and gear ratios ranging from 1:1 to 4:1 are conical gears designed to transmit power between intersecting shafts, typically at a 90-degree angle. These gears feature straight teeth parallel to the cone's generators, resembling spur gears but with a conical shape, ensuring simple yet effective power transmission. The 1:1 ratio (mitre gears) maintains equal tooth counts for consistent speed, ideal for applications like hand drills or differential drives.

Ratios up to 4:1 allow speed reduction or torque increase, suitable for machinery requiring precise motion control. Made from brass (e.g., Ms58), they offer corrosion resistance and durability but are limited to lower-speed applications (under 1000 rpm) due to abrupt tooth engagement, which can cause noise and stress. They're often used in food industry equipment, as brass and straight teeth support wash-down capabilities.
