Hay Elevator Chain Attachments

We offer a variety of bale elevator chain attachments to meet different operational needs.

The HB4 attachment is a single chain that catches and lifts hay bales.

The C1 attachment, provided as a matched and tagged pair with bolted slats, distributes the load evenly for higher capacities.

The G27 attachment also ensures even load distribution, similar to the C1, making it suitable for handling higher loads.

Hay Elevator Chain Applications

Hay elevator chains are specialized components used primarily in agricultural settings, but their applications extend to various tasks involving the movement of materials. Here are the key applications:

  1. Lifting Hay Bales: The primary use of hay elevator chains is to transport bales of hay or straw from ground level to elevated storage areas, such as barn lofts or stacks. The chains, often equipped with spikes or attachments, grip the bales and move them efficiently along a conveyor system, reducing manual labor and improving safety.
  2. Horizontal Hay Transport: Beyond vertical lifting, these chains can be used to move hay bales horizontally within a barn or storage facility. This is useful for organizing bales or transferring them to different locations, like from a unloading area to a stacking zone.
  3. Loading and Unloading: Hay elevator chains facilitate the loading of hay bales onto trucks or for transport, as well as unloading them at their destination. This streamlines the process of moving hay for sale, distribution, or relocation between farms.
  4. Handling Other Agricultural Materials: While designed for hay, these chains can also transport other baled or loose materials like straw, silage, or even grain bags. Their versatility makes them valuable for various farm operations beyond just hay handling.
  5. Storage Optimization: By enabling the efficient movement of hay to elevated lofts or high stacks, hay elevator chains help maximize storage space. This keeps hay off the ground, reducing spoilage from moisture or pests and making better use of barn capacity.

Steel Detachable Chain Disassembly

Disassembling and assembling steel detachable chains is extremely easy unless the chain is frozen or extensively rusted. For extreme cases use our Steel Detachable Chain Breaker for assistance.

Step 1: Pick a spot to do the disassembly and release any tension and tensioning devices on the equipment, it is recommended that the chain is straight for the easiest disassembly.

Step 2: Rotate the chain to the required position to allow for the barrel to easily slide freely out of the hook portion of the chain.

Step 3: Once the right position is reached it should be easy to disassemble the chain by simply sliding the barrel out and off to the side.

Results: Your steel detachable chain should be disassembled and ready to be adjusted or taken off the equipment.
