Our gear category supplies the quality parts to suit your vehicle and its own desired performance. Searching or shop for rings and pinions, aspect gears, planetary ring and sun gears, and differential pinion gears, plus spur and, powerful gears. AxleTech offers individual carrier components, such as for example gear sets, to handle specific servicing needs. Our durable gears are real, OE-quality parts built to specs for demanding duty. Store now to have confidence in the part you utilize for your repair.

We stock the product quality Ever-Power gears that meet up with the needs of a variety of commercial, industrial and military applications, both off-highway and on-highway. Our Gears inventory sun planet gear features the band and pinion product line from Ever-Power. They are essential parts in your stock of carrier elements. At Ever-Power, you can find bands and pinions with OE quality that are designed for strength and reliability. Each set is manufactured to aid your vehicle’s optimized performance. The band and pinions are mated during manufacturing and high temperature treated for the exact hardness the application demands. These important pieces of hardware keep your automobiles moving. Whenever a repair or alternative is required, you can turn to Ever-power to supply the specific component required. The ring and pinions we share are built with the components and processes to meet OE specifications. As authentic replacement gears, they’re produced to the same specifications as the manufacturer’s parts. Compromising a component could mean compromising overall performance. And there’s no need to perform that when you’re able to look to our intensive gear inventory.
Gear Sets for Commercial Vehicles

Ever-Power new planetary reducers hire a floating sun equipment rather than a fixed position one.
The word ”There’s nothing new beneath the sun’ certainly applies to planetary reducers. And, while floating sun gears have been around quite a while, some engineers may not end up being aware of the huge benefits this unusual gear design can offer.
Traditionally, planetary reducers possess used a fixed sun gear, where the centre gear is mounted on or machined into the shaft. When this fixed sun equipment revolves, it turns the earth gears to create motion and/or power. Ever-Power new planetary reducers, however, are having a floating sun equipment rather than a fixed position sun gear.
Why a floating sunlight equipment? ‘In the planetary concept, the sun may be the driver, or pinion, in the gear set,’Ever-Power style engineer Scott Hulstein stated. ‘Because the sun gear is in continuous contact with the planets, it’s important that it is flawlessly centred among the three planets in order to provide equal load posting among itself and all three planets.’
Due to normal manufacturing tolerances nevertheless, a sun gear which is securely fixed upon a shaft will intermittently have significantly more load on one planet equipment than on another gear Hulstein explained. ‘By permitting the sun gear to float, it centres itself among the three planets and creates continuous, equal load sharing.’
Equal load posting is just one of the advantages of this design. The floating sunlight gear provides ‘accurate involute actions,’ according to Hulstein. True involute action happens when the rolling motion between the mating gears is as complete as feasible. The benefit of this total meshing of gears can be longer reducer life, since less internal gear slippage means fewer broken gear teeth.
That also means lower noise levels. When the sun gear is permitted to completely roll into the world gears, there’s much less ‘rattling’ as the teeth mesh. In effect, the Ever-Power product provides ‘designed out’ the gear mesh noise by allowing sunlight equipment to float into place.
So why use a fixed sun gear at every? ‘Fixed sun gears tend to be used in true servo applications,’ Greg Pennings, Ever-Power Client Advocate, explained. ‘A set sun gear is necessary when specific positioning and low backlash are an integral part of the app.’ Ever-Power engineers, however, were less worried about low backlash and more interested with higher torque and/or lower noise applications.
Our planetary reducers with floating sun gears were designed to contend with parallel shaft reducers, where backlash was less critical,’ Pennings said.
By using the floating sun equipment concept, the Ever-Power planetary reducers can exceed the torque rankings of similar sized and bigger sized parallel shaft reducers, yet maintain a lesser noise levels.
Sun, Ring and Planet
The most basic type of planetary gearset is demonstrated in the figures above. The figure at still left shows a three-dimensional watch as the figure at right provides a cross-section. In this geartrain, inputs and result can be extracted from the carrier, band and sunlight gears, and just the planet experiences epicyclic motion. That is the the majority of common type of planetary gearset (with the exception of the differential) and it finds application in acceleration reducers and automatic transmissions. If you take aside a cordless drill, you will most probably find this type of planetary gearset right behind the drill chuck.

Two Suns, Two Planets
The gearset demonstrated above has two sun gears, and both planet gears (the yellow gears) rotate as a single unit. Sunlight gears (green and brownish) can rotate independently of 1 another. The inputs and result can be chosen from either sun gear and/or the carrier. High speed reductions may be accomplished with this unit, but it can have problems with low efficiency if not really designed correctly.

Purple sun input – reddish colored sun fixed
The animations above show the ‘two suns – two planets’ gearset with one sun as input and the other sun fixed. Remember that the carrier rotates clockwise in the computer animation at left and counterclockwise in the computer animation at right – despite the fact that sunlight rotates counterclockwise in both cases.
The Differential
The gearset demonstrated above differs from the preceding gearsets for the reason that it is made up of miter gears rather than spur (or helical) gears. The ‘sun’ gears are the ones that do not go through the epicyclic motion experienced by the earth. And the differential can be used to measure the difference in speed between two shafts for the purpose of synchronization. Furthermore, the differential is frequently used in automotive drive trains to overcome the difference in wheel velocity when a car encircles a corner.
