Road Sweeper
A tractor-mounted 3-point hitch road sweeper is a specialized equipment attachment designed for efficiently cleaning roads. It is commonly used in road maintenance, construction, and municipal applications to remove debris, dirt, leaves, and other loose materials from road surfaces. This type of road sweeper is mounted onto the rear of a tractor using the tractor’s 3-point hitch system, which allows for easy attachment and detachment.
The road sweeper attachment consists of a rotating brush or brushes that are powered by the tractor’s power take-off (PTO). The PTO provides the necessary mechanical power to rotate the brushes, enabling them to sweep and collect debris. The brush assembly is usually adjustable, allowing operators to set the desired sweeping height and angle to effectively clean the road surface.
The brushes of the road sweeper are positioned close to the ground, ensuring efficient collection of debris while minimizing the risk of damaging the road surface. As the tractor moves forward, the rotating brushes sweep the debris into a collection hopper or container mounted on the sweeper. The hopper is typically equipped with a hydraulic dumping mechanism, allowing for easy and convenient emptying of the collected material.
Tractor-mounted road sweepers often feature additional features and options to enhance their functionality and efficiency. These can include adjustable brush speed, brush pressure control, water spray systems for dust suppression, and side brooms for cleaning curbs and edges of the road.
